If there is one thing we cannot escape in this day and age it is the review sites that have taken hold of the internet. You go to buy a dress and there are reviews from women who have already bought it; you try to find the best annuity rates ,and low and behold, you get the lowdown from people who have used their services.
It is practically the same no matter what product or service you are intending to use. You could try and book a hotel only to be faced by the conflicting comments made by people who have stayed there.
And therein lies the problem. Much of the information and reviews that we can find on the internet are very conflicting so that it is a difficult choice for us to ultimately make. Knowing which ones to trust and which ones to take with a pinch of salt can be a very hard task.
Firstly there are the downright false ones which are unfortunately part of the whole review package. These can be written by someone – or a friend of someone! - who wants to push the product such as a manufacturer, retailer or internet store; or by someone who wants to put a competitor's product or service down.
These often stick out like a sore thumb due to the fact that they are so positive or downright negative and it is often clear which are the bogus ones and the ones to avoid. Although it can be tricky, it is best to listen to your instincts. Ultimately, you are the best person to decide what is right for you and although input is appreciated, you have to trust yourself to determine whether the scales tip more in favour of using a particular product/service or not.
